I am the best choice for moms and dads in the region of South Florida (and beyond! I do travel and have a passport!) who are actively searching for a talented and dedicated Family Photographer to beautifully document the special moments and milestones of their lives. I promise you wholeheartedly that I will create amazing, stunning, and unforgettable photos featuring your spouse by your side, along with your cherished children, capturing the unique essence of your family's love, joy, and connection that can be treasured for years to come.
I absolutely love to capture the beautiful and joyful moments of South Florida families at the beach, as well as amidst the natural beauty of local parks. If having a session indoors is your preferred choice for comfort and intimacy, we can certainly arrange that option too! After all, it’s YOUR family session, and I am here to ensure that it truly reflects your unique style, personality, and the special bonds you share.
The family session costs $450 and includes a pre-consultation, up to a 45 minute photo session and 10 digitals. Additional digital files are available for purchase as well as prints & albums.
Great question! Well, that ultimately depends on YOU and your unique personal preferences! Do you enjoy the warm sun and soft sand of the beach for your photographs? Or do you perhaps prefer the serene ambiance and lush greenery of a tranquil park for your photography session? Is there a particular location that holds special meaning or sentimental value to you that you would love to incorporate into your Family Session? Once your session is officially booked, I will send out a detailed and thoughtful questionnaire designed to help me get a better "feel" for what you envision, and from there, I will be more than happy to suggest some wonderful places that align perfectly with your desires and ideas.
There is a reason why I never left the “Sunshine State”. I love beach too much to live elsewhere. Ever since I was little, I was drawn to South Florida’s seawater. Whether it’s the seabreeze at night that puts a smile on my face or waking up early to see the magnificent sunrise, I truly love South Florida and it’s beach waters. I may be bias and saying it is the most beautiful waters out there, but it is true! Bahamas does come to a close second. Their waters look almost like pool water. But South Florida beach waters during certain times of the year almost feel like warm bath water. Sounds weird, I must admit.
Because of my love for the beach, I know all the best places in the east coast (and parts of the west coast of Florida too!) waters of South Florida to take family photographs. Whether you are a life long resident here want to take family photos or you are visiting our beautiful state of Florida for a family vacation, there is no better time to visit, get dressed and take some family photos at the beach. Bring me along and I will make it fun and memorable.
I love receiving emails from families that are planning to come to South Florida and want to schedule a family photo session with me. And why not; the whole gang is together and everyone is together!
I get a lot of calls from hotels as well from families looking for a Family Beach Photographer to do some South Florida Family Beach Photos. Living here locally in South Florida, I guess I take these gorgeous beaches for granted. Sounds a little spoiled, doesn’t it? What’s interesting though that each area is different in so many ways. Take for instance if I get a call to do a beach session from a family that is looking for a Miami Beach Family Photographer. The beaches there are nice; don’t get me wrong. But the ‘style’ is different as well as the crowds. For families that seek me from Fort Lauderdale to do a Fort Lauderdale Beach Family session, those beaches are little less crowded but not many rocks or vegetation to photograph variety. I love Deerfield Beach. Maybe I am bias because I am a local here in Deerfield Beach. When I get a call from a family that is staying here and they are looking for a Deerfield Beach Family Photo Session, I jump up, raise my hand and say, “When?” Lol. The beaches here are beautiful! There are variety of locations, different greenery to appreciate as well it’s a smaller type crowd. Not too far from where I live is Palm Beach County. I photograph a lot of families in Boca Raton. There is a beach there that is absolutely gorgeous and is a perfect setting for a Boca Raton Beach Family Session.
Oh how I love GOLDEN HOUR! In South Florida this usually happens an hour before the sun sets. That is the PERFECT time. It's cooler in the evenings and there is no "squinty eyes" because the sun is going down.
Plan and simple….wear what feels comfortable.
If you are doing a beach session or outdoors where the climate or grounds are not certain, be careful with your heels. Remember, sand and dirt are not your friend and they will sink causing you un needed wobbles! Be expected to take off your shoes to walk near the water.
Think of classic and timeless wear. Consider that these photos will be hanging on your wall for years of enjoyment. Try not to wear nothing that is "in" right now. Remember seeing those prom pictures taken in the "80's"? Enough said.
Avoid the "everyone is wearing the white shirt and khaki look". I'm sorry, it's not a good look. There I said it. Try "groups of colors" that compliment one another instead. If you insist on wearing white shirt, try to add texture to it with a scarf or belt of a different color and pattern. Try not to have everyone wear the same pattern. One can wear a stripe shirt and another wear a color of the same color scheme for example.
The kids may love their Disney Character shirt but the picture of it creates a distracting look where the eye will naturally go to the character rather than everyone's faces. Same goes for favorite sports team shirts, unless that is your theme.
If this seems to confuse or overwhelm you, think of your home decor. Yes, you read right. Your home decor often reflects your own personal style and colors you favor. Is your living room in a neutral theme or perhaps your like bright colors that pop very much like your bedroom. See what I'm saying?
Typically, a standard family photo session can last up to an hour.
The time frame of a family photo session depends on several factors:
Mini Sessions are generally quick and can include one or two images. They last no more than 15 minutes in where you arrive with everyone ready to go and we start immediately. Mini Sessions are seasonal and usually have a theme. I offer these types of photo sessions one to two times a year.
Family Sessions that include up to six family members; I usually recommend a one hour session. Generally these Family Sessions are outdoors. We can go to a park, I can go to your home or we can meet at the beach. The one hour allows me to get different poses with different family members, therefore you will have ‘lots of variety of poses. What kind of poses? Well let’s see, we of course photograph all of you, then mom and dad together (because chances are, the last time you two were photographed together was when you got married), if grandma and grandpa are there; I’ll have them get together with the grandkids and then the kids by themselves. Usually there is time to do some candids as well. That is my favorite part. You get some really great shots when you let kids be well….KIDS!
This of course all depends on YOUR wants and YOUR needs. This is just a general idea of what can happen. Once you and I communicate and confirm, this is where we brainstorm together on where you would like to be photograph, what to wear and as well what kind of photos are you looking to do.
A handful of things to consider:
Larger families or groups generally require more time to organize and capture everyone effectively.
If the session is outdoors or at multiple locations, travel time and setup can extend the overall duration.
All this information will be presented to you once you contact me to inquire about booking a family session.
A Family session includes up to 6 people including kids. We also offer a multi-generational package where the WHOLE family can enjoy. It’s a great way to get the family together! During your session we take a variety of poses. Immediate families, Grandkids with the Grandparents, Siblings together are just a few examples.
